I signed up to Etsy yesterday, and also validated my seller’s page so that I can sell stuff.
I’ve been knitting since December, I think. After I learned, I was obsessed for a while, got frustrated and stopped for a few months, and then got back into it in April. I finished a scarf that I’d started in January (and started over several times) and shipped it off to Sami in Oklahoma; I wanted her to have my first creation.
In May, I started my second scarf with what I thought to be an easy pattern. I started the damn thing over about 8 times, not finishing until mid-June, but once it was finally done and blocked (soaked in cold water and stretched to retain shape), it was totally worth it. I gifted this scarf to my dear friend Erin, who moved to New York a few weeks ago. It turned out beautifully, and I hope to make another one just like it soon now that I have the hang of it.

The second scarf.
Anywho, because the wedding and all that is over with, I’ve really gotten into knitting. I meet with friends every few weeks in a knitting group we created, and it really gets my yarn going. While attempting a new pattern that a friend passed out Friday, I learned that what I was about to make goes for anywhere between $30 and $70 on Etsy.
Ho-ly Crap.
Thus, I set up an Etsy seller page. My goal is to have at least 3 things posted by the end of the month. Currently, I have nothing finished, but I knitted half of a basic scarf just last night that I hope to finish and post and in the next few days. It’s only $.20 to post an item, and it stays posted for 4 months, I think it said. After I get a few things posted that I can knit quickly, I’m going to invest in some properly-sized circular needles and work on that $70 project. Woot!

yeah I am absolutely in love with the colour scheme in that second scarf… I love it. You could easily sell your stuff on etsy. I would buy some and I’m sure some of my friends would too if I pass on the link and show them my example. Also, my best friend makes blankets here… but she hasn’t put them up for sell yet. I’m not sure if she’s going to or not, but it’s insane how long it takes.
